Last night i was playing Call of Duty when suddenly my PS3 just turned off, beeped 3 times, and the red light started flashing, this is the 3rd time it messes up but this is the first time this is the problem, i don’t want to send it in to Sony… again to pay $150 and then it breaks again in a few months… i check online but couldn’t find a solution to this problem, i only found a PS3 repair guide supposedly tells you how to fix this and other problems that i may encounter for $12.. i don’t know if i should get it or not.. so if anyone has bought this guide and it worked for them please tell me if you would recommend it, or if you have a solution please tell me… thanks for all the answers i get..

ok first off the answer to everything : Youtube, also try going to your local electronic stores, those people can really help you if you are nice, and at last just maybe it overheated. Guide is a waste
A few months back, i have fixed my PS3 that got a Yellow light of death. Now tragically, the red light of death has appeared. I was wondering if fixing the red light of death would be like the yellow one. For the first Yellow light of death, i opened my PS3 and resealed the heat sinks with my own compound. Now with no real instruction on how to fix the red light of death, i was thinking of following the same instructions i had tried before. Tell me if there is a different solution, and if so a link to the guide would be helpful. If not, i will just try the old formula once again. Thank you.

My PS3 has been working fine I purchased it March of 2010 at gamestop it’s a 40 GB fat so it’s just over a year since i bought it. But yesterday it just stopped working and so I was playing or getting ready to play NHL 11 and it just shut itself off and started flashing red. I noticed too though that when it does this there is a little yellow light first before and then flashes red and also 3 beeps. My brother seems to think that it’s just a bad hard drive but I am pretty sure that this isn’t the case and that it needs to be repaired,reflowed/Reballed or whatever. The fact is though if I have it shut off and not use it then if I try it again I can turn it on and get to the main menu and then about 2-3 mins after then it will shut down. So it’s not like it just does it right after I turn it on it will only do that if I try to turn it on immediately after it shut itself down. Otherwise I can get to the main Menu. So yeah I am just wondering will I have to reflow/reball it or since it’s not shutting off immediately is there other options for me. I am out of warranty since it’s been just over a year and Sony said they’d charge me 99 dollars plus taxes to repair it which is better then when they told my friend they’d charge him 149 or 199 I forget but that was like 6 months or more ago, he just got a new Slim instead. So do you think I should have it repaired by sony or does anyone know of a reputable place that will do it at a better price, or do you think I should go out and buy a heat gun and what not and try it myself, I’d be following Gilksy guide unless there is a better method.

Well now it went straight to the red blinking light and I wasn’t able to get to my main menu or anything so I turned it on and it just went green to yellow to red blinking with the 3 beeps.
I found out that 750 F on the heat gun will be fine and so my neighbor has one that I will see If i can borrow.

Though the “Yellow Light” that you are seeing is simply just the Red and Blue LED’s flashing at the same time, which has nothing to do with hardware malfunction, i recommend calling up Best Buy and ask them if there has been any history of that problem and see if you can do something about it. If not, call PlayStation 1-800-345-7669 or 1-800-345-SONY. Good luck, mate.
hi all ive been thinking of a way of making some money out of doing something i like now i found a website called train2game and wanted to do that but sadly i cant afford it so i was thinking what can i do to make money so it hit me i like playing with consuls i like the idea of fixing and making them look good i mean i would only charge like a tenner per fix now things that are confusing me are first the xbox 360 elite now that red ring of death is a hardware issue how would that be fixed ?? how would i fix the ps3 rord i think that’s how its pronounced also i wanna mod 360 and ps3 controllers now is there a guide on how to do this i no on a xbox360 Controller it needs that silver thing on the circuit board but for the life of me i cant remember but how would i put things such as neon buttons and things like that to it and how would i do the same to the ps3 remote also how would i put lights into the xbox and the ps3 alike and also how would i do that to the wii as well if i could and could i also put neon’s into the psp and ds also im looking into chipping the consoles just out of interest is that illegal

hum maybe your right but i dont wanna charge to much and everyone goes to the cheaper provider my thinking was if i charge a tener people will come to me because im cheep meaning in the long run i make more money but how much should i be charging ??
