How to Downgrade PSP Firmware
To downgrade psp firmware in order to play homebrew games and apps you have two or actually three methods to choose from:
Changing the chip for a modified chip (mod chip) – As this involves some previous soldering and electronic experience and the fact that the mod chip is not easy or cheap to come by, this is a method which is not recommended because the chances of permenetly damaging your PSP are high and the risk is not worth it when there are simpler methods available.
Using a Pandoran or Pandoras battery and a magic memory stick. A Pandora battery is basically a replacement battery for your PSP which also has another function. It can put your PSP into service mode to enable you to make changes to the memory and settings which come as standard configurated by Sony. As well as the Pandora battery you will also need a ‘magic memory stick’. The magic memory stick can be made by formating a normal memory stick and performing a few tweaks.
Downgrade PSP Firmware the easy way
The method we recommend has no need for a Pandora battery or a magic memory stick , no mod chip, and is the safest and easiest way to downgrade psp firmware. All you need is some simple software which is available for download and some simple step by step instructions. Now the software you need can be found on download and file share sites but the problem with these is you never know if they are genuine complete files, or if they contain some kind of virus which can affect your PC when you dowload the software or some virus that has no effect on your PC but completely bricks up your PSP. Who knows why some people get a kick out of creating viruses and causing unsuspecting individuals to have serious problems with their hardware and software.
